VIDEO INSPIRATION

As I told you, last weekend I went to Animac. My favorite part of the festival is the short film section. This year I saw many stories, some better, some worse and some that could only be understood by experts (me and JJ made some jokes about it)

Anyways, seeing these shorts made me remember one in particular from the 2009 edition. There you have it. It's beautiful.

UNDERWATER

What a week...
There are days when reality crushes me (even if I try to ignore the media news) and I don't feel like flying at all. So today, waiting for better times, instead of flying people we go to the other side and we sink in the water, with Elena Kalis.

VIDEO INSPIRATION

Every year, in late February, my city welcomes the International Film Festival of Animation in Catalonia, Animac.

Over the years, Animac has consolidated its independent and artistic character. Created in 1996 and throughout his nearly 16 years history has become one of the most popular audiovisual events held in Spain, with an important international presence and prestige.

Animac is also a meeting place for artists, a laboratory in which ideas are generated and relations between the different artistic disciplines are established. It is a place to dream and screen stories of the future

I have a special devotion for the section of the festival called "brou" (not sure if this year have changed the name) that presents a selection of the best animated short films.

And if you want to see an example, here you have the newest short film by Disney, Paperman.

Visit their website or their facebook  for more info.

Have a magic weekend!

VIDEO INSPIRATION

It's been a long time since the last "video inspiration" post, and I definitely need some to get through these winters days. Maybe dreaming about travel to South America, where now is summer...

In South America - 2012 from Vincent Urban on Vimeo.

Don't you wish to take your backpack and run away? For now, in my case it's just a dream, so far there is no trip around the corner, but who knows!

And what about you? Are you planning something special for the weekend?

XOXO

JUMP LIKE A CAT

via
There are days when the best therapy is to jump endlessly, with loud music, dancing like a  child moving your arms and legs without thinking about people say, loud clapping feet on the ground and jumping high, until you are breathless but with a smile on your face.

Run with the wind in your hair
in a sea of flashes
Run until you are breathless
jumping with open arms
and do not touch the ground
 and your body
soars skyward

For the first time you know
this is not a dream
now we are awake
This is our time

Jump although no one understands you,
above  the hollow heads
Jump like a cat
you're not a jailbird

Nobody knows our secret
nobody wants to know they live with their shoes on the floor

Jump with open arms with you hair in the wind
This is our time
Jump though nobody understands you
above the hollow heads
Jump like a cat
you're not a jailbird

Jump although no one understands you
 above hollow heads
Jump like a cat
you're not a bird
Jump though nobody understands you
above the hollow heads
Jump like a cat
You will never be a jailbird again

SOMETIMES, IN OCTOBER...

photos via 1,  2

A veces, en octubre, es lo que pasa
Sometimes,  in October, that's what happens

(Ángel González)

Cuando nada sucede,   (When nothing happens,)
y el verano se ha ido,   (and the summer is gone,)
y las hojas comienzan a caer de los árboles, (and the leaves begin to fall from the trees,)
y el frío oxida el borde de los ríos (and the cold oxidizes the edge of rivers)
y hace más lento el curso de las aguas; (and slows the flow of water;)

cuando el cielo parece un mar violento,
(when the sky looks like a violent sea,)
y los pájaros cambian de paisaje, (and the birds change their landscape,)
y las palabras se oyen cada vez más lejanas, (and words are heard more and more distant,)
como susurros que dispersa el viento; (as whispers dispersed by the wind;)

entonces,
(then,)
ya se sabe,  (you know,)
es lo que pasa, (that's what happens,)

esas hojas, los pájaros, las nubes,
(those leaves, birds, clouds,)
las palabras dispersas y los ríos, (scattered words and rivers,)
nos llenan de inquietud súbitamente (suddenly filled us  with concern )
y de desesperanza. (and hopelessness.)

No busquéis el motivo en vuestros corazones.
(Do not look for the reason in your hearts.

Tan sólo es lo que dije: (It's just what I said:)
lo que pasa. (what happens.)

HOME DESK INSPIRATION

These days I'm searchin for home desks inspiration, a table to put the and some space to write or read. What do you think about this examples?

What I think is that I don't have this big spaces and high ceilings in our house, but you can always get good ideas from the photos, and adapt it to your possibilities, don't you think?

See you soon.

MR WONDERFUL

If you are preparing a special event or celebration and you want to be different take a look at MR WONDERFUL. I was surprised and I instantly loved it. They are graphic designers who are dedicated to making invitations, personalized plates, corporate images and much more. Their creations are original, rather than the typical invitations filled with puppets, butterflies and birds ...

If you take a look it will surely inspire you, I love everything they do!
They also have a shop and a fantastic blog.

I love the dappled pine wood, you can varnish it with different dyes and it's always stylish.

Don't you think you can do something similar with your hands if you really try?

WEEKEND INSPIRATION

Hello family! The weekend is here, finally! And for some people, the beginning of Easter Holidays. I have to work,  but only until Wednesday so I'm not complaining.
I don't have too many plans for these days, but I guess my holidays will involve spending time with friends, some sunshine and fresh air.

A few days ago I stumbled upon this stunning video and I felt like I need some fresh air and lonely landscapes.

Have a nice weekend!

Bye bye February,  welcome March. Spring is getting closer!

And of course, a song for you ;-P

MEET DANIEL DANGER

Yesterday I found this precious illustration from Daniel Danger. Then I went to his website and I discovered the rest of his drawings, I'm delighted!
Abandoned buildings, shadows and lonely landscapes... His drawings are dark but also there's a lot of light. I love the blues and greens he uses.
Here you have a little sample of his work. Worth seeing in a larger size to appreciate the details.

What are your latest findings?

HOME INSPIRATION

Good Saturday morning! These days I'm doing a little home redecoration.  I have not finished yet but it seems there's a light at the end. We are redecorating the largest room of the apartment.  We have laid the floor, removed all the old furniture (until yesterday we still had the old  big wardrobe), painted the walls and made the trip to the furniture store (Ikea forever). Now  there are only left to do the final touches of paint and waiting for the furniture to arrive. Well, then will have to  reorganize the entire house and put everything in its place because now there are clothes everywhere! As I have not finished and I can't show you pictures, I want to show you a little idea I have. Basically, turquoise, black and white.

WINTER MOOD

Winter is coming, and I'm so happy!  Yes, I like winter, Christmas and foggy days... but in small doses. I love to live in a place where we have real four seasons.

I found Ruche's winter lookbook video the other day and I love i! Truth to be told, I didn't know this brand and I don't know if we can find it in our country, so it was not my idea to write a promotional post.

Anyway,  the video is so sweet!  The light, the colours, the clothes, of course, they're perfect! But to me the best part is the music...
