Here in Catalonia, it's a tradition to celebrate the night of June 23rd, Sant Joan's Eve. Since ancient times, just at the arrival of the summer solstice, the longest day and the shortest night of the year, on the evening of June 21st, people have welcomed in the warmer weather
with celebrations of fire, the ritual flames consuming all as a sign of
rebirth and renewed life.
It's our magic night. People build and burn bonfires, light firecrackers and fireworks, and eat suit "coca" with fruits and cream.
We are going to spend the night with some friends in their country house. There'll be a bonfire, "coca" and maybe some magic rituals, so fun!
